History
Our company was first established in 1972 by our patriarch, Marvin Lilly, as Marvin Lilly Floor Covering. Marvin worked hard those first few years to establish the business. It wasn’t long before people in Suffolk and north east North Carolina came to know and trust him with their flooring needs. His knowledge and personal touch from sale through installation made him feel like family to every client.
Marvin’s son, Phil, grew up in the business and began as a full time partner in 1980, with the company then becoming known as Marvin Lilly and Son Floor Covering. Marvin retired in 2005 and Phil continued on with the name being simplified to Lilly Flooring. Phil continued what Marvin started, working hard and connecting with customers. His son, Matt, grew up in the business the same way he did and has been full time since 2016.
With Phil and Matt, one or both, on every job installing, we have remained small to ensure our quality never changes. The Lord has blessed us with many great clients and friends over the years and we can’t wait to meet and help more!
